Ella’s Newborn Isaiah

Here are a few pics I took of Ella’s newborn baby Isaiah. Only a week old, Isaiah wasn’t too happy with having his picture taken unlike his elder sister Ella who we did a portrait shoot with earlier in the year. Think Ella is going to be the un-camera shy model in the family!

Ian + Stacy’s Winter Wedding

We met Stacy + Ian back in October 2010 at their friends Jill + Aggie’s wedding we photographed at Watergate Bay outside of Newquay. The date was booked for 3rd december 2011 and going on the previous years weather in the UK in December, we were expecting another white winters wedding but it wasn’t to be the case. Everyone made it to the amazing venue Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds without any delays and the couple were just over the moon with the beautiful blue crisp winters day that followed.

Funnily, Jill + Aggie were expecting their baby around the 3rd December and our hopes of meeting up with them again for a catch up were dashed when Jill was taken into hospital to give birth on the day. For Stacy, she was one bridesmaid down for the day but over the moon for Jill.

Kate + Craig = Married at last

The totally gorgeous (looks and personality) actors from Kent. We met both of them about a year before the wedding and on the first meet, we just knew the whole day was going to be filled with lots of lively characters, fun and plenty of laughter. The day really was truly amazing and really couldn’t have gone any better.

This was our first time shooting a wedding up at Trelissick Mansion in Feock just outside of Truro and the couple spent the whole day with the wedding and reception held at the amazing venue. Here are some (only a few of hundreds) of our favourites:

Caroline + Mike = Married in Cornwall

We travelled over to Gunwalloe Church near Helston to capture Caroline + Mike’s big day. If you aren’t familiar with the venue, check out the tv series Doc Martin that recently featured the church in one of the new season episodes this year. Its a gorgeous ancient intimate church right beside the beach and a brilliant setting for the Cornwall couples wedding.

We didn’t manage to make it down onto the beach as unlucky for us all, the heavens just opened up as soon as we literally went outside of the church after the ceremony so it was a mad dash back to the reception at Trebah Gardens near Falmouth. A similar story there, we had to make a timed attempt to get outside to get Caroline + Mike some outdoor images around the gardens and we just about managed to get a few locations in. Here are some of our takes from the few hours we spent with them.

Claire + Aled = Wed

We had a very late booking with Claire + Alex but was lucky for both of us that they both live just around the corner from us in Newquay so we managed to put everything together quite easily with only a few days to spare. They had their service down at the Glendorgal Hotel in Newquay followed by the reception at Lusty Glaze beach also in Newquay.

The day really couldn’t have gone any better for us and we managed to capture some smashing photos with the couple and their guests. We just love shooting on the beach and the backdrop and lighting was just amazing. Here are some of our favourites.

Louise + Richard = Just Married

We took a drive for Louise + Richard’s wedding and headed for Dalwood over in Devon. Our first wedding we have photographed over in Dalwood, we managed to capture some of the getting ready photos with both bride and groom before heading to the Church of St Peter in Dalwood followed by the reception in Burrow Farm Gardens.

The reception in the Gardens was a hidden little gem and although open to the public, the grounds were so vast that it felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. We explored some of the grounds with Louise + Richard and went on a bit of an adventure to take some different angles. Here are some of our pics from their day.

Zory + Bernard

Like many of the wedding couples we meet, Zory + Bernard live outside of Cornwall and decided to come down to marry in the Porthminster Hotel in St Ives this summer. So far this summer, we’ve really struck gold with the weddings we’ve shot in St Ives and their wedding day was exactly like this. St Ives seems to have an amazing spectrum of colours that keeps the pretty town looking Mediterranean like with its aqua blue sea and pure golden beaches.

We spent a few hours with Bernard + Zory and had a few onlookers in town (peak season so no shortage of spectators) and with the tide being in our favour, we hit the town beach and took some shots down amongst the fishing boats which give an amazing backdrop of colours and textures. Quiver Surfboards Advert – Join The Family Photoshoot

A few months back, we shot some photos for Quiver Surfboards new advert themed ‘Meet The Family’ in a tongue and cheek mock up of the Godfather movie. Here are some of the portraits from the shoot. The advert was printed in Carve magazine and the boys in the advert have had a few nicknames including Luke Quiver’s shaper being known as ‘babyface’ down in Newquay.

Kirsty + Ryan = from Wales & WED in Newquay

We first met Kirsty & Ryan, at our house in Newquay and instantly knew we would hit it off with the couple. We ended up bumping into them that same weekend in our local haunt ‘The Red Lion’ and had a few beers and few laughs (Ryan is definitely a Comedian in the making and not one to be shy of putting on a show for people!).

The wedding took place in the Atlantic hotel in Newquay on a sunny Sunday in July. Strangely enough, it seemed as if we had the whole hotel to ourselves for the day as the summer season hadn’t yet hit. Fantastic as Kirsty & Ryan and their guests made full use of the grand ballroom and the outdoor space. We really had such a blast with them for the entire day and delighted to have met such a great couple. Already looking forward to catching up with them at Boardmasters in Newquay in August. Lizzie & James – JUST MARRIED: Pitminster, Devon

Lizzie & James: Our friends we met in Mount Maunganui New Zealand back in 2009. Before we left NZ for good, we had this booking in the bag and was our first on the books for the UK market. It was very strange to see both of them dressed in their best attire as we so often were dressed in wetsuits, gloves, booties or bike riding gear for our outdoor pursuits in NZ.

Our day was amazing and so glad we were able to capture the days events. Both Lizzie & James have such a large group of friends and family that were so noticeably excited to see them back in the country and finally tying the knot after being together for many years. We definitely had a laugh looking back at the slideshow of photos/videos Jame’s best man put on show (my favourite was the ‘Chav’ shot of lizzie!!!
